The Municipal Chief Executive for Ho, Hon. Divine Bosson, has warned parents of underage tricycle riders to ensure their wards desist from the act or face legal actions themselves.
He made the statement when he paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Ziavi Traditional Area, Togbe Kwaku Ayim V, in his Palace on Wednesday, 15th December 2021.
Honourable MCE bemoaned the increasing practice of young, underage, school going children riding motorcycles and tricycles within the minucipality during school hours.
A practice he believes will increase the illiteracy rate in the municipality whiles putting their own lives and that of other road users at risk.
The MCE also acknowledged the vital role the traditional authorities play in the decentralization system and called on the traditional authorities not to relent in whipping him into lane anytime he strays.
Hon. Divine also hinted of the award of contracts for two major projects, i.e Dutasor area council office, to be located at Matse and a new assembly complex respectively. Work according to him would commence in the weeks to come.
In his remarks, the Paramount Chief of Ziavi, Togbe Kwaku Ayim V, pledged the support of the Ziavi Traditional Area to ensure the Municipality experiences the necessary developments.
The Chief also welcomed the news of an intended construction of a new assembly complex. He stated that younger assemblies within the region have modern infrastructure whereas the older one in their area still operate in an old area council building.
He, together with Togbe Kwaku Dzaga, the Awafia (Warlord) of Ziavi, called on technocrats to work in unison to ensure the developmental agenda of the Municipality are effectively and efficiently executed.
