The Registrar of the National Teaching Council (NTC), Christian Addai-Poku (PhD), has written a letter with the heading “LICENSING AND REGISTRATION OF QUALIFIED TEACHERS IN GHANA” dated 18th June 2021 to the Director General of Ghana Education Service (GES) indicating the schedule for issuing license to all qualified teachers in both public and private schools in Ghana.
In the letter, he has indicated that teachers in the Greater Accra and Central regions have been issued with their license already.
According to the letter, the Council would like to engage the Regional and District Directors to prepare the grounds before the main exercise.
The schedule for issuing license to teachers in each region is given below:
- Western Region – July 2021
- Western North Region – August 2021
- Ashanti Region – September-November 2021
- Ahafo Region – December 2021
- Bono Region – January 2022
- Bono East Region – February 2022
- Savannah Region – March 2022
- Northern Region – April 2022
- North East Region – May 2022
- Upper East Region – June 2022
- Upper West Region – July 2022
- Oti Region – August 2022
- Volta Region – September 2022
- Eastern Region – October 2022
