Twenty five candidates have been vetted and cleared to contest the various positions, among them, four candidates are running for National Vice President. A press release issued by the Communication Team of one of the Vice Presidential Candidates, and copied to thetrustedmedia is shared below:

Mr Bruce Senam McBrian, that is a man whose life symbolizes triumph over adversity and the beauty of resilience! Swimming the stormy sails of life from the very beginning, Mr Bruce Senam McBrian chose a profession that would lead him on the path of greater discovery – teaching. Having obtained the necessary rudiments of his teaching profession, Bruce spent the early years of his career in the classroom moulding lives and transforming destinies of learners. His passion for teaching and impeccable communication skills caught the attention of the Ho Municipal Directorate of GES. An appointment as Public Relations Officer of that directorate would immediately follow that pleasant discovery.

With a vision of a world where everyone enjoys their inalienable rights without hindrance, Bruce uses his pen to advocate for social justice and inclusion, earning to his credit several publications in Ghanaian dailies and weeklies. Indeed, writing is his best medium of communication, though many who are impressed by his voice insist he should be on radio. Bruce is the Volta Regional Secretary of the Ghana Association of Writers (GAW) and also the Associate Editor of the Volta Teacher Magazine. He has ten books on different subjects at various stages of completion. These include Agriculture, Communication, Labour Relations, Education Management and poetry.

Bruce is an active member of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT). Beginning his service from the local level, mobilizing young teachers for clean campaigns and educational tours as well as running errands for senior officers of the union among other things, he now serves on the National Socio-Economic, Gender and Political Committee of the union. He is a member of the Institute of Public Relations Ghana (IPR-Ghana); Devout Humanitarian and Charter Member of the Ho Sentinel Lions Club.

A turbulent childhood would transit into a terrible midlife crisis. Betrayed, bruised and broken, the travails of early adulthood would keep his dreams buried for years. He gave up on many things except tenacity. When it seemed almost like he had come to the end of the road in the pursuit of his intellectual dreams and he was never going to have tertiary education, he rose from the ashes like the mystical phoenix, enrolling into the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Social Work. He proceeded to the University of Ghana for a Master of Arts degree in Social Policy, and then to the University of Cape Coast for a Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies.

Fortitude!

Mr Bruce Senam McBrian is making a comeback bid four years after he had made his first attempt at becoming the National Vice President of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT).

His Teacher Agenda campaign, premised on 10 key points seem to have caught on with teachers across the country. It is however not too clear what his chances are. We wish all candidates well.
